Hello, My name is Jason Connell. I've decided to try to develop some drawing skills and wish help from friends here.

A little about me: I'm an art major and computer science major. I work for a government game as a modeler and texture artist. I have about 5 years experience total. While I've gotten alot of experience in the 3d field. My organic drawing skills all but evaporated over the last 5 years. My goal that I would to achieve is to be able to pull the characters out of my head and put them on paper. Right now, I'm having a hard time replicating what is in my head to paper. Thanks in advance.

First 5 min sketch from this reference : http://www.finalfantasy.de/images/splashes/splash_1/final_fantasy_splash_l.jpg

Thanks for reading!

Siris,

Good to see your start here. I think one thing to watch when drawing are the axes of the major features - brow, eyes, nose, lips, chin, ears - the horizontal axes of which will be parallel to one another, no matter what the tilt of the head. Always pay attention to the direction / tilt of these axes:

Hope this helps. :)

Cheers,
