View Full Version : freeze transformation like MAYA , exist ??

i have a object that i modify your coordinate (rotate,scale,position) ,there is a methode to reset transformation to 0 like maya freeze .
i tested the fonction reset system but nothing.
Please Help

there no plugin or script , it impossible to animate like this situation.

there is a free plugin called Target Zero that will reset your object to 0,0,0.
I would recommend you get Solo Button ( also a free plugin). It has 2 command called 'back to origin' and 'back to position' which are very usefull.
Perhaps this is what you are looking for?

Yes that is a real great plugin. I can't without anymore.

Yes it's an unhappy situation. Even the new bones can't be zeroed. :( The workaround in Cinema is to use null objects. Make the object you want zeroed a child of a null a move the null to where the child is. The Center-Parent-To command will make doing that easier. The child's local transform with then be zero.
Don't know wether I understand you correctly. But to me it seems that going to Axis mode and setting Movement and Rotation to 0 and Scale to 1 would do just this.

Ok for axis ,but for the objects.
VIVA MAYA , there is solution, group the objects then connect !!! but .... just for rotation and position not for scale ,like MaaaaaaYaaaaaaaa

sorry but it seem that I don't understand what you're trying to accomplish. If I have a cube for example in Maya. I move it rotate it and scale it in different axis. If I then use "freeze transformations". All i'll do is resetting the Objects Matrix. Exactly the same can be done going to Axis Mode in Cinema, wich is in fact a Matrix Mode. Then resetting the desired values manually to the defaults pos 0,0,0 sca 1,1,1 and rot 0,0,0 will have the exactly same effect as this resets the objects matirx to the identity matrix keeping the objects points in world coordinates unchanged. If you want to mimic mayas behaviour exactly just keep the position values unchanged. Shortcomings in Cinema only are, that you cannot modify the matrix of generators and that you only can modify one object at a time.

ahm i think u guys missunderstood, axis mode rotates the axis, what freeze trans. does it just displays any rotation as 0,0,0 so when u animate u have nice numbers and its easier to make riggs in xpresso.. cactus dans plugins have that as a secondary coordinates manager, we really need this in cinema so maxon cmon =)
reseting the rotation to nice numbers like 0,0,0 is exactly what rotating the axis does. An objects rotation is defined by its matrix. This matrix in fact is the Axis. So rotating it to 0,0,0 without changing the objects points is exactly this.

read again, it has to retain the axis at any rotation and display rotations as 0,0,0... its like rotating world coordinates system to objects rotation...

how about just grouping the object, to get a 0,0,0 reference coordinate system
Ah OK, that's a different story. Well but grouping the object does the trick as mokaj suggests, no?

if maxon keeps its way of releasing the things and update for 10 is coming in a month or 2 i hope it will be implemented... =)
