Hi all, I' m having problems with my gray.

I start off making a grayscale pic. Then I add a gradient that goes from white the black. Where there is supose to be gray, there is a red-gray color.
At first i thought it was my profile which is set to sRBG IEC61966-2.1. I belive that that is the adobes defult setting. Then I tried the curves, but did take the red out and turned it the a blue. I also know that it is not my monitor.
please help.

thanks.

If you are trying to make a grey only image, use greyscale mode (Image/Mode/Greyscale).

At the moment you are in RGB mode which is why your gradient is not a completely neutral colour.

Are you 100% sure that you are in greyscale mode? (image/mode/greyscale). We can't see much in that screenshot.

Also, do you have "proof colors" on (view/proof colors).
If so, turn it off.
