I put together some planning (greasepencil!) thumbnails and I would love some feedback before I start filming reference and blocking this out in 3D. What do you think?

Great timing and shows the characters personalities well, imo.

What exactly is greasepencil?

very nice mr yan, i definitely like your use of greasepencil

**btw for you who is being 4 the asking greasepencil is a script written by jason schleifer that allows you to draw on your animation like....right there on the screen....and it's viewable in the playblasts....it's uber@@@ **

i really could tell what was going on immediately from the ,tee hee, "penciltest" and even tho you changed some of the angles and pose composition when you got to 3d the planning phase allowed your blocking to be immediately visibile, a damn good way to start IMHO

im so stealing this method from you because it makes sense buahahahahahhahshavehahahahveaaaaa!!!

keep up the good work paul hope to see more from ya

Looking good. If I had anything to say I would say that the character on the left could possibly put his head on his face a bit earlier, thats just me.

Someone pointed out to me that if you turn off the audio, the character on the right acts like a man - which is entirely true because I filmed myself acting it. So, having realized how I have no feminine manerism this is my attempt to toss some in:

I find that the end of the man movement is maybe too strong if you concider his voice. it's a very powerfull movement of arm, but the sound of his sentence does not seems hangry that way.

Looks great Paul! I had tried out greasepencil but never thought of developing the drawings as much as you have here. If anyone wants to try out a similar script, download the macaronikazoo toolbox for greasemonkey. It's basically the same but I find that it runs smoother on my machine.

I remember reading briefly that they had issues with their forums - not sure if it was inappropriate spamming or viruses / something nasty anyway. bother bother bother - I can't download it. --

Hey there, looking good!

Acting Like a Guy
You talked a little about the female "acting like a guy". I think in frame 82 range, you can get a stronger pose with the female, i.e. more femanine. Maybe you can put her hand on her hip and when she turns away from him the second time towards the end (her hands are crossed, you did this already, so great!)

Guy is "Anchored"
For the guy, in the frame 80-100 range, perhaps he can move into her space more. This gives you the oppurtinity to move the guy char since he's anchored for the whole piece. Then when he's in her space like that, she can turn around and get up in his space (she's more motivated to do so now that he's in her space (as you've done), in frame 143, forcing him back.
