Janine

EDIT: Here is the scheme now! Click (http://www.3dfluff.com/files/R10_Light_Janine.zip)

Unzip this folder and copy it into Resource/Schemes. Then load Cinema and select the scheme in the preferences.

========

I'm working on this at the moment:

http://www.3dfluff.com/files/janinescheme3_small.jpg

Once I have cleaned up the scheme's folder I'll upload it. Unless you all hate it, then I won't bother and I'll keep it allllll to myself muahahahahh... :D

There's a bigger screenshot here: click (http://www.3dfluff.com/files/janinescheme3.jpg)

All the tools and commands are greyscale and only the objects are coloured.

Yes, looks interesting. At least it's not so overly colored anymore (though I still can't really get used to the new look somehow...)

Maybe before MAXON. ships R10, they can include a folder of some of these schemes. I like a little variety when I get bored and sometimes don't want to take the time to redo the whole thing myself.

BTW That smile seems a little forced...;-)

does this scheme work with R9.6 and resolution 1024x768 ??

tcastudios
10-08-2006, 04:12 PM
Yes, please Janine.
I work with a much darker environment, so it would be very interesting to test the grey Icons inverted. And then when I find the different Icons "groups", add a tad of color.

It works at any resolution (the layout isn't part of it), but it doesn't work with R9.6. Well, not properly anyway. ;) A ton of things have been added in R10 to allow more interface elements to be skinned than was possible before.

I'll have the finished scheme in just a few minutes btw. :)

Much more tasteful than what I've seen of the official version :)

Agreed.

What I don't like:

The icon for the Symmetry object: too simple and the colors are not symmetrical .
The Undo and Redo icons: too much curb

What I love: the Add Hair icon

What I like: the rest.

Hehe... I bet you'll find a whole mountain of icons that you'd rather have changed if you look through all of them, I think it's a matter of taste. ;)

Btw for anyone who wants to tweak colours: I left all the adjustment layers and layer masks intact in the icon file. If you unfold the "filters" folder in the tiff in Photoshop you'll find an adjustment layer including the layer mask for every icon group. Try switching them off one by one and you'll see which icons belong to each category. That should make the re-colouring a lot easier.

My deepest thanks Janine! Keeping the adjustments layers was absolutely brilliant.
By the way, the psd files for the schemes in the original R10 Demo are also left with their
layers. Didn't check that before. I suppose I can make new fader designs from there.

Again, thanks Janine.

Oh yeah!!! That smiley sun expression was supposed to be in the release if someone (Albertoooooooooooo???) hadn't sneakily removed it! I really cared about it, I was speechless when I saw that it had been removed... :p So, naturally I've put it back in with my scheme. The way it was always supposed to be. :D

Hey Lennart

that layout looks sweeeet! If you can share it when we all get our copies that would be great. I'm like you, I like dark colour schemes. It was great when after effects allowed it as the old interface was way bright. Did you use Janines template if so please share

regards

PS I almost forgot to ask when's SteadyCam 3 out?

tcastudios
10-09-2006, 01:09 PM
Sure I'll share when it's done. Right know it's mess/halfway done. Quit a few icons still need to be inverted/redone/adjusted .
The scheme (psd) is the original Dark, only changed to red ends on the faders.
Tweaked interface and document Color preferenses(mostly inverting active areas and damping red and greens) and the icons are from the Janine tif, with XYZ's from Cartesius and Cams by me and further recoloring.

SteadyCAMPROv3 is the current version :)

Sure. :) My resolution is 1920x1200 though, so it might need some adjustment for lower resolutions.

You live in St. Albans? I just started the MA 3d Digital Animation at the University of Hertfordshire and live in Hatfield. Just saying Hi to a neighbour :D

That and the Galleria is the only thing they have here - though I have heard that the pubs and clubs are quite good in St. Albans

Now that is beautiful. Thank you Janine! It's not quite the barbie theme, admittedly, but just as nice; if not nicer.

What's the easiest way to modify the icons if you're going to change them in any other way than adjustments (e.g. changing the shape or adding information)? I'd like to modify the axis icons so that they contain BOTH the HPB data AND axis color. Then I'm set with this scheme for sure!

Cheers!

Just remove the original icons from the file and paste your own in. The size should be 32x32. I've set the grid in photoshop to 32x32 pixels, that helps a lot when pasting icons into the file. Oh, in the icon file in my scheme the axis icons are in a folder called "extras" i think. They're already seperate. Or possibly only the HPB letters, can't quite remember now. ;)

Janine, your scheme is top notch. I have converted the original R10 Dark Scheme to your version without the icon conversion. Please note this has only been tested with R10 Demo.

Your work is a much appreciated improvement! Thanks!

I like the way the icons are converted to text, is this a setting in c4d or is the based on the scheme, because I downloaded yours and when I use it, only the colour changes, not much more.

Did I do something wrong? I'm new to this..and sorry if it already has been posted. ^^
