Hi...
I have a doubt... I have a low res and a high res model... I would like to know how to transfer the weights of my low res model onto my high res model.. cause.. if I increase the iterations by smoothing my low res.. I am not able to reach the smoothness n shape of my high res..I seem to have to use my high res model only..for the final output.. but I'm stuck on how to transfer the weights..
Can anyone help me..?
thanks...
Nikhil.

hi nikhil,

if u have the low res geo all in one mesh... and u have the high res too in single mesh.. select the low and then the high res mesh and go to edit skin > copy skin weights .. maya will transfer weights from ur low res to the high res based on worldspace distances.. i've used this earlier ... and it worked out quite well !

not if ur low res is cut into multiple objects .... u can select the vertices across the objects copy skin weights !

my observations are - the better the low -res geo skinning, the better u can get on the high res tooo ! u might hav to tweak a bit on the high res.. but u get back 95 % weighting !
