I'm rendering using render passes.

I have the Script Editor open. In a fifty frame render, I watch as every pass achieves 100% complete. After the fiftieth frame's passes are done, It shows a operation, "Rendering Post Processing", and proceeds to start the render on frame one again.

This takes twice as long. Why is it doing "Rendering Post Processing?

Are you sure you only have one render layer set to render? Theres a little box next to each render layer that toggles that render layer on or off. Make sure only the render layer that you want to render is switched on.

Otherwise check you only have one camera set to be 'renderable'.
