Hey guys,
Thank you those who have replied to me and have encouraded me to go on.
Honestly ,I was busy with my works and I came back from a long good vacation ready to start the challenge then I noticed that the challenge is not going well as usual and I only see a few good active artists and it is not as hot as before. :sad:
I hope that you guys are back on track and start making the challenge a real CHALLENGE Ofcourse I should myself try to start doing sth.:wip: :wip: :wip:

Hey guys
I jump started again .This is the layout of what I am going to work.here there is a huge pyramid with a tree inside which is the symbol of eternity & life and they are located in an unknonw area .The pyramid is suspending in the air.
In the foreground you will see some researchers or astronauts who are investigating about the pyramid.But apparently they are astonished by this new wonder.
I'll update you with more details soon.

If you think that I have misunderstood the concept I guess you are wrong. Cause everybody has different conception about a topic.Also I believe that we can broaden our insight of the topic.No offence to anyone but using spaceship concept is not a must for every project.:rolleyes:

This is what I came up with for now.In the horizon the mountains in the background is complete .
In foreground my idea is like this but I have to add more details and characters .

I decided to model the pyramid in steps .They are made of stony blocks in a step form with a variant of different colors
I liked it to have its simplicity to match the surreal style .Also I felt like having snow on the top so you can see the snow in the direction of the wind and also I liked the effect on the edges of the stairs which has white horizental effects on the pyramid.

You can see the process of work with the textures .I tried to assign the textures on each layer of these steps horizontally so the textures used here has more width compared to the height.But in other channel another texture is added which is tiled 3 times on the pyramid.

When Patricia exits the Way at the end she finds herself infront of pyramids in an alternate Earth where Alexander The Great continued on instead of dieing so young leaving the ancient world as we know it the main and long living civilization there.

Concept really differs from others. But i think that its good!
Only thin g that bothers me- the snow on the top of pyramid- the combination of pyramid steps and snow texture looks like the video-flickering effect... dont know the right word in english... ;)

Here you can see the background with the pyramid which I think is almost finished .
I thought of adding some grass and roots at the bottom of the pyramid but changed my mind because I wanted the tree in the center to be focused on as the only alive element.

Now I have finalized my concept of work .
The stony stairs is almost finished but the column above the stairs need details and requires more work.
I'll try to use ambient warm color in the foreground to complete the cold colors in the background.
The position of the researcher is relaxed but it will be completed by textures and details.
I might add a woman reseacher sitting on the stony altar later.

This is the latest.I am close to the final composition.I have reached the color I intended.
The background is completed,I'm working on the foreground.I haven't worked on the middle layer yet.In the next post I'll give you more detail.

In this stage the layers are like this:
L1: This is composed of a few layers produced in Photoshop and 3d.
L2: in Max environment I added the pyramid with all its details and some characters inside it and also a tree which shows eternity .
L3:In max again I added another layer of mountains and a lake in the middle of the scene. It has a separate lighting as the above layer.
L4: the foreground remains the final work of the scene and I have to work on it. The character is adjusted on the rock ....

I was astunned to see another person had this idea of floating pyramid and i like it when I see somebody like an author has thought of eternity and immortality like this. it engaged my mind the whole night I saw the challenge and it was like a dream to me so the next morning I had the idea of a floating pyramid with a tree which was alive and showed eternity.Anyways,thanks for the info about the movie .I'd like to see it then.

When the challenge was announced and after getting the essense of it I thought of creating something
with a surrealistic touch and almost a symmetric composition with a horizen in far away.
The pyramid has always been the most mysterious and beautiful geometric
fiqure to me and more than that it is the axis of it which has the best quality of the pyramid inside .No wonder that this idea of a pyramid and a tree inside came to my mind
during the night I read about Eon challenge.
Therefore, this tree in my project is the symbol of eternity ,ei; the pyramid with its mythical power helps the tree to be eternal.So the floating pyramid in an unknown land was something that I thought of creating.The philosophy behind the floating pyramid is like this: As a pyramid is so powerful and so independent and full of characters it doesn't need to be stabilized on sth like earth otherwise it is sth to lean on so in this case the floating pyramid makes sense.
In foreground my scene shows some form of rocks which was once used as an altar for sacrificing and offering lives to the tree but now there is no life in there just after thousand years there are some researchers discovering this place and amazed by this alive tree.

Softwares: 3ds max,Photoshop,VRay

This submit contains animation which is low quality because I didn't know we had to have animation too.So in a hurry I animated my scene to show that my work was done in 3d.The project is multi 3d layers but because of lack of time I could render animate the foreground only.The problem was that my work was vertical but horizental encoding was needed.It seems that there is no need for tif format submission in this part of challenge.please let me know if I got it wrong.

hey this is realy great job Adel....sorry for not being around during the process....i just loged in now and saw the finished piece and a then big WOWWW.....


i like the story,the models are great as usual and everyother things as well....but what i realy liked the most was the lighting.....which made it so real.....the only thing i think you still can work on are the ROCK textures....which seems somehow that have some problem with theire UV's...but still they look great....
your best image i can remember till now...lets have high hopes for voting
