i haven't read this part yet but i think you got something interesting here, this scene could capture a great part of the feel of the story in the intense stance of the gateopener, i look forward to see more of it, good luck man!

Exactly the Gateopener Ry Oyu has only simple white clothing in original story. Bad I don't want be wittingly exact.
I think, artists thinking must be a little diferent to be original.:)

This is a great start! I'd love to see more of the world surrounding the characters though. Keep up the good work!

My favorite of these images is 'the last gate' concept art. The opener is the best, and the face is great. But with the color version I would suggest lowering the human to allow more dynamic 'space' for the opener. Try not to lose the spiralling you show on the B&W sketch, either.

Patricia is a little light, in the book she is a dark skined girl with almost black hair, if you are trying to be true to the book.
