Wow, it's finally done! This project took me three days of straight work to finish and now, I bring it to you! I hope you all like it as much as I had fun making it.

I set out to make the most realistic thing I had yet done using only the tools I currently knew and could improve upon. What you see is as realistic as I could get with my knowledge of texturing and Maya renderer. My next project will hopefully be in a package with sub-surface scattering and better rendering for more realistic skin.

C&C welcome and APPRECIATED! Please be as nasty as you want on my texturing, I have much to learn in that regard. Thanks!

Project specs:
Completion time: 3 days.
Method: Maya NURBS and CPS.
Texturing: All photoshop hand painted.
Renderer: Maya default.
Render time (avg at 800x600): 5 minutes.

Lastly, I would like to thank Leigh for her awesome tutorials on texturing, without which, I would still be using procedurals!

Well, I know what you were trying to do with the shadows of the trees casting a shadow on the hood... but the shadow is too small showing the entire tree! It then makes it look as if the hood is 'reflecting' the tree rather than a shadow being cast. The texturing is realistic... nicely done. The only part that took away from the realisim, would be the bloodshot yellow (?) eyes. Cool threatning expression, but the eyebrows need more hairs too. This could really look cool with a little more attenion to the 'organic' texturing.

Heh, funny you should say that the hood was trying to reflect the trees, I hadn't actually considered that. It's actually just the color on the hood, I added the trees in post =). The eyes were made yellow on purpose to give him a sort of mean-unnatural look but a number of people have told me it looks unnatural, which, it does, but I guess it's not sitting well with people. I will change it and repost, perhaps after some more suggestions that I can change all at once. The skin is also drab and lifeless looking on purpose. Thanks for the comments.

[Edit]: Oh, as far as the eyebrows go, I originally had more hairs but they are nurbs tubes, not Fur, and were looking quite odd unless viewed closely. I will work some more on it. Anyone know a good tutorial for eyebrows using actual hair that would look more realistic?

[Edit #2]: Does anyone else think the hood looks like its reflecting the trees or whatnot? I hadn't even thought of it before but now I do and it's kind of bothering me. Even if I took the trees away it would still look a little like it. Anyone think I should redo the color map for that?

I really liked the material applied on the clothes. but the face
especially eye looks a bit strange to me. I am not sure wat though.
