So, I'm really likeing smooth proxies. However, I would like to find a way where I can model one half of an object and have an instanced second half. This way I would only need to model one half of the model.

The problem is that a smooth proxy that is mirrored ends up with a big seam in the middle.

Can I create a low-poly mesh, Duplicate it (mirrored with instance) and then place these two halfs into one Smooth Proxy that gets rid of the seam?

Or is there some other method to do this?

Thanks,

I would just use CPS for modeling(it has a built in mirror function plus many other nice toys) and then use smooth proxy when you get to doing character setup.
