ok, well, for the most part, i been slacking BIG time. Thanks to cgsociety to extend the deadline. Im thinking of going with this minor scene in Thistletown when they Patricia and Takahashi come across a flower garden. But, im going to take some artisic license and add a few more majestic looking banzai trees and have an upshot showing the golf-tee looking buildings and perhaps seeing the rest of the city in the upramp chamber. Thumbnails coming soon.

well, this is the "concept art" i guess. There was no thumbnail option and im not going to be using 3d. Just a painting. So im starting out with thumbnails and tightened line art will follow.

I decided to go with the small, very small scene where Patricia and Takahashi walk past a garden with artificial sunlight. Im going to take some artist liberties and take it a direction of my own where they are sitting out in the garden looking to the skies with the rest of the upramp city curving into the horizon.

Oh, my! Another professional!

Seeing the WIP of Jeff puts an extra weight into his words about you!
I trust there is something great to expect from this thread :)!

I love your concept! It immediately created a very beautiful and moody image in my head. Small scenes, sometimes they are the ones that show the greatest things!

Good luck, and I wish you more free time for finishing this!

heres an update, i've added an extra building element to the left side to fill in that space. Im not sure if i need it or not. But this may be conflicting with the book but i think it definetly makes it feel like a garden, and since its supposed to be artificially produced, why not have a waterfall coming off the spires?

Sure, why not? It's science fiction, dude! :)

Lookin good buddy, keep it up.

Of course this supposedly "free weekend" has been full of other crap... not to mention about 7 hours of Call Of Duty 2. It's just so much fun fighting WWII all over again... :D

i cut out Patricia's head and blew it up and painted it up. I used a photo of a lovely lady and worked it into the face, lips are from someone else too.

I'll go back and import it back into the painting and downsize it. I'll adjust coloring and making it fit into the environment later on.

Great perspective and scale. Very good concept.
I know itīs hard but the characters should be stretched more into the right perspective in order to fit the background. Maybe itīs a good idea to build a decent grid and use that for a guideline.

Know what i mean? Anyway, looking forward to the final image.
Keep up the good work.

Lookin good Kev! Martin's got a point, the chars could tweak a little along the same perspective lines as the tall "mushrooms." With everything else "flying" away from us in perspective they look a little flat at the moment. Otherwise all's well, I'm sure you're cranking away at it today (like I am with mine, GAH).

This scene is a very small scene when Patricia and Takahashi are going through the Third Chamber city. She notices a garden with artificial lightsource. I took this and illustrated it with certain degree or artistic licensing.
