View Full Version : Roofing a saloon

I'm trying to place "shingles" (editable polygon boxes with a noise modifier applied) to a roof object so the roof looks more realistic than just applying a texture. I tried using Scatter and Array but they really didn't do what I wanted. Do these have to be hand placed or is there an easier way?

i'm guessing the particle array just kinda scattered them all over the place, not orderly, right?
try making a spline segment that has a vertice everywhere you want a shingle. then emit your particles from that object, using every vertice. you should be able to move the vertcies around and get them right where you want them.

Actually I was using the array tool not the PArray particle system although I didn't think of that. I'll give it a try. Thanks,
