I'm skinning a character ,i'm painting weights on one side only and i was wondering what's your method to mirror a skin weight ?

there's an option called Mirror Skin Weight or something like that in the Skin menu.
Your model has to be perfectly centered on one axis of the world coordinates, generally it's the X axis, depends on how you modelled. Maya will transfer all the weights from one side to the other.

i've just another question, is there a way in maya to reset the coordinates of an object, set the translate x y z to 0 ?
