karabo 02-02-2003, 06:55 PM how in the hell do you model vents like the ones shown below? I have tried and tried and it's just not working. Does anyone have a good way of doing them?

make it part of your texture. It would be very hard to model that.

It looks doable in my opinion, so I would not texture that if you can avoid it. Unless it is low poly, i ALWAYS prefer actual modelling to textures.

If you're using polygons, then delete a face that is over the entirety of the vent, then use Extrude Edge to start modelling from there, shouldn't be too hard, time consuming tho.

I ahve a a great way in mind for MAX, but i have no idea how to explain.
If you have AIM or MSN, then maybe i can eventually get around to modelling vents myself with a screen capture video and send the vid to you. Lemme know and i'll see what i can do.
