Here is the scenerio:

3DSM 4.2

I have particles that emit from an object. An arm, actually. Once "born", the particles follow a loose path (a shape using the Path Follow modifier) and then eventually die out about the same time the shape ends. My problem is that particles emit in sort of a shotgun patteren. Small groupings that flow to wide ones. I want this to happen, but I want them to revert back a smaller flow towards the end of their life.

Like this: ...:::||||:::...
Not this: ........:::::::|||||||

If that makes any sense, can anyone help me? Thanks in advanced. - biffen

I'm using the PArray Particle System. Basically, the they generate all over the surface of an arm (forearm bone, really), follow a path and then are supposed to flow back to the surface of another arm bone. Its hard to explain I know.

You can controll to an alarming degree how a particle is "born" and how they expand, but I cant figure out how to kill them exactly when and how I want.

should be an option called "fade for' in the 'particle generation' rollout increase that will do exactly what you want . . .
