Can somebody point me in the direction of some tutorials on how to composite 3D items into an .avi or .mpg movie? I know I can use a video for a background, but a simple tutorial on even placing a ball in a movie would help. I do not own combustion, is that somthing I will need? (looks like it mainly does effects)

Thanks in advance.

well..1 way u can do is put your video into max environment map.
or use video post to composite.all that is in the max help file.
combustion/after effects/digital fusion/shake/flame...all are compositing softwares that enable you to have multiple layers with control on individual layers or composite.

so unless you are sure you want to really do some heavy duty compositing ,i 'd recommend trying out max's options.

yeah. try it with max definitely first.. there's a post on here from this week asking how to put video onto a plane in max. you can try that and work from there. if you're going to invest money i would say after effects. but that's just me :scream:
