I am a beginner to intermediate in maya (using maya 4.5). I want to know how to set up a limit in the movement of something. For example, I was watching the tutorial from Gnomon online about the sword and constraints and stuff like that. I understood it all perfectly, it was just that he said you can put a limit so the sword does not go through the sheath (I temporarily forgot what that thing the sword goes into is called).

I figure it's an expression, only I'm not to good with that yet. Still trying to learn it.

Thanks,
marvin

No replies yet? I thought this would be an easy one.

What about if I'm going to control a leg, but don't want it to bend too far. Is there a way to limit the bend of the knee?

Anyone?

I think your looking for rotation, scale and/or translation limits.
This means that an Object can eg. on rotate between a range in an axis

create a sphere, open itīs AtrrEd, go to pSphere1 and then to limits
