Don't worry! I realize I am WAY out of my league here - but I consider this a massive, wonderful opportunity to learn and experience something amazing.

Also, Eon is near and dear to my heart - I read it over a decage ago and have cherished it as one of my favorites of all time ever since. It is a masterful book, and because of that one title, I have since read /every single Greg Bear book/ that's been published. He is a true visionary.


I only hope that I can slow down and conceptualize something even moderately worthy to enter into this competition.

hahaha! You're so cute :) I did make a preliminary sketch, but then I went on holiday for a week... and my mom is in town.

A load of excuses I know - but I will get to it!!!

Just messing around right now, I really needed to get this initial image out of my head. I read this book over 10 years ago, it was the very first hard-sci-fi I /ever/ read and it made a very big impression on me. I haven't re-read it yet, so this was just always an image I had in my head... of axis city traveling down the Way...

I like it. If it's what's in your head then run with it. I like the green a lot, an unusual and difficult colour scheme but very interesting.

Why is it that I keep filling my plate up with other 'projects' to practice on instead of working on this?


I'm driving myself crazy :/

I haven't done a single thing - and I should, just for the experience. Blah.

Hehehe... I understand completely. I was petrified to start of the skin shading on my piece, so I went and did a ton of 'practice' (for which read: waste time and procratinate) pictures. It did however make me feel more confident. I think I just needed to stop looking at my picture for about a week, to come back to it fresh. Let it sit for a while if you have to?
