Hey all -

I was wondering if anyone can give me their thoughts/opinions on which animation tool they prefer:

CAT (character animation technologies) or Motionbuilder?

I've played with both; and like the simplicity of CAT, but I like the cross-functionality of Motionbuilder -

Which do you prefer and why?

Oh, and I'm using 3ds max 8 --

For now I prefer CAT - easier interoperability with MAX, very powerful. MB takes more effort to learn, but I intend to do it in the future :) CAT also has some other neat stuff - the procedural motion, for ex.

if you export rig from CAT to fbx and import this rig to Motionbuilder, you can characterize this rig and create an animation whit motion capture data or hand kayframeing and then import this animation from fbx file to CAT in 3dsmax.
if you create only hand kayframe animation I prefer use CAT.
