Kinda nothing but I think I will go with this one. This may be a bit easier. Just one character. It should be that hard hehe!

Very nice sketch/concept B! Maybe there could be one spikey building in de middle of that platform that reaches for the sky? Well done..

First all good luck brice for this challenge...
Interesting concept and pov... just the image looks at this point too heavy on the right bottom corner, probably try to add somethig on left to balance a bit the main image... Of course this projet is animated so it can be just a frame not the complete environment...

Agree with jddog, nice perspective. The shading in the picture is awesome, and i can tell the modelling should be up to par as well.

Awesome sketch. You don't need to tilt the scene like you did, it is powerful enough.

No worries Climax!

Jonesisme- Thanx, I am going to consider that. I still may go with the tilt though. Something that I do most of the time. Let see how it turns out!

Still going to playwith the idea first. I am going to change around some stuff to better suit the theme a bit better. Just doing something to get this thread going.

wow how to explain my thought with my english :P ...
The base of the city in your sketch was pyramidal (the carrying leg structures) and now they are upright... The sketch version give more dramatic and scale efx at the model... probably i will correct this point form you 3D sketch. Continue to follow what you do !!!

i like that concept but feel the camera tilt is to much, less is more imo. maybe you can make the image wider and have the guy and his boat more to the left? having him straight under the city makes the pic a bit to "stiff". looking forward to see more!

beelow
10-18-2006, 10:34 PM
jddog- yeah sorry bout that jddog. I had them modeled but electricity went out and forgot to save, Argh!:argh: :banghead: I will get the models better prepared. Thanx jddog!

fellah- thanx fellah, I was feeling the same way about that. Thanx for addressing that as far as the character position is concern. The camera tilt was for more of dynamic composition, but I will change the camera position to see how it looks. I may do straight up and down composition. I wanted to throw a building that reached for the skies in the middle. I am not sure though. I think it may be a bit redundant and expected though, what do you think?

fellah
10-20-2006, 08:03 AM
yes why not, give it a try atleast. it should be fast to change the aspect of the image and throw in a tall building to see. i think it can look great with the contrast between the little man and his boat and that massive building.. like ppl in egypt must have feelt infront of the pyramids in the old days.
if you want to go in that direction maybe this image can serve as an inspiration:
http://www.wessonality.com/Wallpaper/Paris%20Eiffel%20Tower%20-%20Nov01.JPG
maybe adding a bit of sky-fog at the top to make it look higher and some kinda shoreline for the man with his boat.. more buildings around etc etc.. anyways, just an idea!

:wip:

hmmm thinking of what I can do to make this fit. Thanx for the ref fellah! I am considering those options that u have suggested to me to finish this scene now to incorporate into this image! Thanx again!

Hey Bryce,

Nice sketches , if you can capture that in 3d you will have a great entry. I would stay pretty close to your concept when modeling as I really like your sketch. Just my 2 cents. GOod luck.

looks dali'sh, with the high pilars, lost horizon and huge dimensions, comfortably surrealistic. nice atmospheric set, looking forward to its development. keep on rocking bro!:buttrock::wip:
