10-12-2006, 02:55 PM
Might just be me but i find it a little 'visually unsettling' with the cropping at the bottom of the image cutting so close to the singularity (is that was it is?) Don't ask me why :S My focus is jumping from that to the main city. Off to a great start though Thierry! has a nice dynamic feel to it.
good luck! :)

This is superb! I absolutely love the colour palette - it has a very... well, it's hard to describe exactly, but I'd say a kind of 'retro' feel - something you'd see on the cover of a speculative science fiction novel from the eighties... maybe. I hope that doesn't totally ruin your image with concepts of big hair and disco music, but seriously, something about this piece has me totally hooked. Save Image > Set As Desktop Wallpaper (hope you don't mind! :D)

Following the previous idea, I thought of placing the Axis city in it's past. While it's still being built by the Humans and the Frants, some Jarts are making an intrusion from an opening in the way and launch an attack on the city.
The Jarts have colonised the Way several centuries before the Humans did, although these last ones created it.
Thanks for the support my friends, I appreciate a lot!

Hey Thierry ,
I didn't know you did 2d as well as 3d , should have know from your previous 3d concept paintings. Very cool looking concept sketch here, the POV and colors are great as well as the design. Awesome job on this.

I'm finding too many things pointing in too many directions with this. Overall, I love the color and sense of action. But if you can decide on a unity of directions and orient your elements to them it would help. Perhaps a major/minor arrangement--major being the flaw, minor being an angular opposition to it. Then elements can either be working 'with' the flaw, or in reaction to it.

Looking nice so far. The colour scheme is very typical of your work, hehe. In terms of composition, i personally think that you are cropping it a bit too much. Maybe move that left spacecraft fully inside the image to give the illusion of having more space.
Other than that, the city is looking really interesting.
Unfortunately, i might not be able to join... i'll tell you about it when i email you.
Goodluck again and i'll be keeping up with your entry.
A bientot

Its really a powerfull image, great color scheme and details already as well. But personally I find some things that bothers me a bit.. take this post as nonimportant :) just personal opinion.
I think that when u zoomed out the view, u distructed the image a bit. Now elements lay all over the canvas and its quite hard to group them all as an one image. I hope Im not too hard with this critique, but I thought I had to point it out. Making more things that would visually join all the elements would help (smaller pieces flying around) or maybe its just becaus it doesnt seem to be in perspective right.A ship in the left upper corner is a bit strangely placed in and brakes the flow of the viewers eye traveling thru the image. Once again, my personal opinion only :)
All the best with ur further development!
