Hi people, this is my first post here on cgtalkcom.
So, this is the wip of the illustration that hopefully I'm going to end in a few days: it's completely made in Photoshop CS2, and it's a raster: although, i've used many vector shapes to make, f.e., the guitar, the whole black shape, and maaany other things.
I have only some details left on the guitar, and i'm done.

So, before that, I'd really like to get some critiques or advices.

Wow! it really does look like completely vector work, I was surprised to see Photoshop as the medium and not Illustrator. It's looking really great.
My only crit would be that with all the very bright light lines and highlights, there seems to be something slightly odd about the index finger and other one of the hand holding the neck of the guitar. The hand supporting the bottom of the guitar looks amazing, but the lighting style you have set seems to suggest that the index and middle fingers of the top hand are bent in an odd way to the side, when really they are bending to wrap around the neck of the guitar (and "away" from us viewers).
but maybe it's just me. :)

Otherwise it is very crisp, I love the style, and I can't wait to see the finished work!

cool! looks real neat. i would also have to agree, the fingers on the supporting right hand look a little short. the fingers on the upper left hand i think should wrap around the neck of the guitar in a slightly more circular fashion. it looks a little unnatural to me to have only the joint at the end of the fingers bend with the rest of the finger being straight like that. real cool look though, i look forward to seeing the finished product.

meh, looks like i'll have to redo the left hand XD

That is pretty awesome. I seriously thought that it was done in Illustrator.


Satriani is an amazing guitarist, and I got to meet him a few months ago. Great guy.

It's finally done! :D They have not accepted it in the gallery yeat, so i'm posting it here meanwhile.

oh this looks so frickin cool, really good job! please do the same thing with john petrucci and one of his ernie ball guitars and i will print me a 5x3m poster lol
