Thanks James and JD! I could not believe the topic. I just got the book today. I have an idea already in my mind which is good this time around!
I will read the book for a bit and let it affect my idea. I should be able to get some sketching going soon. This vision in my mind is very sharp, so it should be good. I will finish this time!
The both of you are going to be great to rub elbows with and your work is top notch!

Happy to see that you are probably fixed with you idea... for me it will be pretty hard do read the book and be contaminated by it, probably will try to create my idea from some resume or synopsis find in some place... :D

This concept takes root from the 2nd Chamber but could possibilly expand given my exploration of the book.
The basic tenet of this concept takes the idea of the connective tissue of the plasma tube and abstracts this to an actual spatial and possibily inhabitable construct. The construct is similar in action to the actual idea of the one connective elemental of the chambers that comprise the stone.
I am looking to take this rich idea of a connection and abstract the original plasma tube and extend those characteristics to the scene.
From this sketch, I can get into the scene building context as this gets the idea that I want in a flat 2D looking down on the scene.
Light is very important in this concept and scheme, its filtering, and presence will play a big part.
Second to this large connective tissue/structure is a directional ancient surface that is perpendicular and could suggest some kind of movement transportation corridor.
Another element to this concept is that I intend to allow my exploration of the book to affect ongoing evolution and detail of the scene.
However, the main ideas of the sketch will remain nonetheless as the strong central main component of the piece.
Thanks for your comments and time in looking in on this thread!

Quite an intriguing start already
And:

It's funny because I've spent an unusual amount of time thinking about this too. You get the distinct feeling that the light in this place has to be somewhat peculiar, albeit in a subtle kind of way - and definitely, as quoted, its presence in particular. Looking forward to see your next step.

Sketch over of previous model & render to loosen up idea of what I am looking for in the abstruct and some of the environment.
Next phase of modeling begins.

Great start!
Im not really sure about the light play in this scheme. The souce is just gonna be the plasma tube right?
What do you mean by filtering?
Ok..im subscribing. The scale looks humongous-as usual, even back to the Architectural Wonder Contest days....*nudge**nudge*

Hello Nazirull!
Since I completed reading the book, the plasma light, and source is an very important thread not only in the book but in this particular design. In this case, it becomes an embedded element in the scheme.
Light from the surrounding space around the "Abstruct" will provide another source of environmental light that is different from the core of the "Abstruct"
Scale is enormous here. The great thing is I want to put you into the shot so you feel the scale hence, the cutoff of the "Abstruct".
Thanks!

The actual form of the Abstruct is evolving, however its essence is constant as in the case of the neomorphs and homorphs in the storyline of Eon. The element that remains is that which is constant wether it is essence, consciousness or 'mystery'.

Overall modeling of the "Abstruct" is almost where it needs to be. Work will now shift to focus on the ancient "Transway".
I will come back to the "Abstruct" to more finesse, but I figure I should get the composition of the major elements to the same level of development to keep on schedule.
Thankyou for visiting!

Here is how the scene is unfolding in its breadth.
At the moment, I have ideas of how the sky might work but making that happen inside this cylinder idea is going to call upon some inventiveness to maintain the illusion of sky all under the synthetic construction of a possible chamber of sorts.
Here I might do something that begins to speak about what happens when this concept begins to stretch into a infinity of sorts like what happens when the 7th chamber gives way to "the way".
Thanks for your comments and viewing!
nice studies man, interesting shapes. Cool concept.
It's all about having good ingredients to make the soup, looks like your dish will be tasteful.

Are you planning to show a chamber, then? You've been working on the forceful visual of a linear element. I'm not sure where it is to resolve into an environment.
Its a good concept to explore. So much of the story is about a line, a connector.
I'm over in 'illustration', by the way. I was looking for your entry in the wrong category.
Good luck!

Continued work on the abstruct construct. This structure should embody in essence the idea of transformation as the stone transforms through the 7 chambers to its point of infinity.
This structure will also appear conventional at its near closest point to our POV but will undergo transformation as it fades into the horizon.
