Here is my vision of the singularity that Patricia is touching with her hand.

I've added more details to the initial concept image. Distortion brush comes in real handy in simulating the contorted surface, reflection, and sharp spikes of the singularity.

I've painted the color tones over the black and white image to get a quick color scheme.

I like the colors you've chosen, nice work. In color, the swirl in the middle looks really trippy (in a good way!) :) The layout confuses me, though: I see where Patricia is touching the Singularity (kina hard to miss!) but where is the tube of the Singularity itself? It's not just a point in space, it's a long tube, but I don't quite see that here. Am I missing something?
Good luck!

Thanks for the encouraging comments, Neville. I find the colors too vivid for the background. I plan to tone it down a bit to increase the depth. The layout is indeed confusing without the element of the tube as Mike has pointed out. I plan to rearrange the piece and come up with another fix. Thanks for the pointers.

I've slightly reduced the vividness of the background to add depth and emphasize the outline of the tube. I made the corridor transparent revealing the grand external view. Also changed singularity's surrounding vicinity with reflection showing various distorted view of Eon interior.

Patricia reached out with her hand touching the singularity.
