View Full Version : Organic blob shader?

Hey everyone. I just saw this image, on DOF 3.0's page. It's a really cool effect, the material inside another, like there is a thin film over the red stuff.

What would be the best way to get this kind of effect in a shader? Some kind of layered displacement? Would love to hear your thoughts. Or maybe geometry inside a clear sphere (distorted)?

Thanks McNistor. I remember that one from XSI Base. Pretty cool. But it looks as though that shader has a wet look on the surface, which is nice, rather than a transparent bubble with stuff inside. I guess I was just wondering if there was some material trick to make a contained bubble material.

I'll keep experimenting.
