Ok here's a project that I've been really excited about. I'm doing a collaboration piece with my new friend Alberto Ruiz.

He's been one of my favorite artists long before I knew him and I have all his books. Check out his blog too ---> TAKE A LOOK (http://processjunkie.blogspot.com/)

His take on the female figure is amazingly unique and original.

A month ago I met Alberto while doing the Toronto Fan Expo Comicon and took the opportunity to invite him to be a guest artist in next Imaginism Book. Due out in early December 2006. Topic is "Ancient Japan Sketches." He liked the opportunity and came up with the idea to do a collaboration with him.

So here is the WIP for this collaboration... stay tuned.

Also if anyone's interested you can check out other Imaginism Books or preorder the "Ancient Japan Sketches" ---> HERE. (http://www.imaginismstudios.com/store-book.html)

hahah that strange anatomy thing is cool, nice work so far, this one'll be fun, you both seem heldback by the 'awe struck' thing though, where's the improbable background, yu both have an ooowbligeeshiun. :scream:

Here's another update on the Alberto Ruiz and Bobby Chiu collaboration.

Ended up changing the background after talking with Kei. I think it's a great change because now I have some great opportunities for some blood splatter on the wall.

It's getting a lot closer to being done now.

The piece is very close to completion now. I'm mainly just thinking if there should be more to look at on the wall... any comments, suggestions? Here's another update.

Only preordered copies will be signed.

One cannot argue this is an incredible painting. Amazing manipulation of the human anatomy to contort into an appealing, dynamic style. I do have one question if someone would be kind enough to answer... on the woman's right, outer thigh it juts out to a point. The opposite thigh is smooth. Is this shape from the contraction of the muscle? I can't point my finger on it, but it doesn't look right to me. Of course, it may be my hunch ... a muscle is being used and it takes a strange shape.

I think this looks simply amazing, and to be honest at first I was a bit iffy, but I love it.

My only comment would be on the area where the ground meets the wall, some of your blood splatters stop abruptly on the ground, and if they were splatters they would splatter up onto the wall as well.

cool, almost forgot about this one, there is definitely something missing above the character. cant say what it is, but i'll think about it today and see if something comes up. cheers.
