Title: Lya
Name: Melanie Delon
Country: France
Software: Photoshop
Hi everyone, this is my new painting and once again it’s a sad story : Lya was a happy wife until her husband died during the war. Other then suicide, she has no other way to see her husband again, but will she have the courage to sacrifice not only herself but the little flame of life that is growing in her?
Well i hope you’ll like her :) c&c are welcome, thanks

Ahhh... it's beautiful! :love:I love all the details in the background, her hair, her dress, her fan... amazing work :)
Hi Melanie,
Great image again, you've improved a lot. I particularly love the contrast in this image. Seems like you modeled for yourself once again.

Exellent job. Be proud, be very proud!
Eskarina, you are such a prolific artist, continually producing beautiful works in such short time frames. And since your subjects are usually interpretations of yourself, you must be the belle of France. But I don't see the same story in the painting as the one you're telling. To me, it looks like she has cheated death (if the mirror is revealing her true self) and death has come to reclaim what belongs to it; but her child will live (if the dove is any indication of hope). Well, I guess that the mark of a truly great artist is to express such deep meaning on so many different levels that the end result can mean different things to different people. Very beautiful painting, Eskarina!

Awesome! Your work is truly amazing, I like the details as hands trying to reclaim her in dress and walls (these lasts hands seem to crawl toward her). Very inspiring images and stories, my personal favorite is Pearl.

Before I read your explanation I had another idea about this image. It was the evil face in the mirror combined with her pregnancy that made me think of "Rosemaries baby". But your story is very good too. :) Excellent painting. I love all the details. :applause: 5 stars for sure. :) Britta

Great work Melanie :) the face is what I love the most - fantastic technical rendering, expression and features.
After staring at the piece for a while, one thing came into view: Maybe it is just me, but aren't the arms+forearms a bit too small in comparison to the head?
Either way, it's still fabulous. One of your best works to date!
WoW man !! Very god work ;)
Very detailed one
5 for sure

Oh my goodness, gorgeous painting :) I love hands in the wall paper...reminds of the freaky images I see in wooden doors... Great story as well...to me, the mirror shows how she sees herself for thinking of killing herself and her unborn child...Again, lovely piece!

Thank you so much for the closeups! The level of detail is mindboggling! Fantastic.
Just curious, is the image in the fan symbolic of something, or does it have a story behind it? I asked because I haven't really seen hand fans with human figures on them, so I was wondering if there's more to it.

Well...the only downside to this piece is....your story isn't so precise to me: I feel there's so much more to the story. Well don't argue with me: the pic says so. :)

Yes, you are indeed talking to a rookie here, but so be it! I am totally new to 2D and 3D art, but it is something I would really like to get into someday. I know Photoshop and Maya are the two best softwares, but what kind of computer should I be buying to put it on? Dell, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, what? I know that Linux is probably the best operating system, but anyting that anyone can offer would help. Be nice please. Thanx!

Something is bugging me - the hand that is holding the fan. It might just be me, but the hand seems to be slightly elongated. Still, no matter for its a incredible effort. You should be proud of this work.
