Hello everyone!

Since I bought my new computer with WinXP, does anyone know of anything good WinXp website for tweaking it?

A good example of the tweaks I am searching for is how to make the start bar of Windows semi-transparent, change it's color, etc.

Thanks!

Turn off all effects other then cleartype font.

Switch the performance rollout to maximum (all features disabled).

Use the win2k service guides to stop any services you don't need. (You can kill around 12-18 pretty easily).

Use widely available tweak utilities to stop various XP crap features.

Turn off autorestore/backup.

You can actually get Windows XP down to around 50ish megs of ram at bootup...but by the time you get it there, its just windows 2000 with hyperthreading support. :) Er..I mean "Better" hyperthreading support.

Thanks everyone!

Now all I have to do is search these websites. Thanks alot!

I wonder, before I begin to surf these websites, if it's possible to change the Start button in something else... Like in an image? And change the green/blue color to suit my desktop better?

I'll have some fun!

Thanks again!

Edit: By the way, where do I find this Win2k service guide?
