CGTalk - Wierd Tree Thing

Some wierd tree I made earlier. Took me about 10 minutes for the whole thing. I was testing some different things and trying to mess with some new brushes and voila! haha. Well if you like go ahead and crit. *i know the highlights and shadows are bad, but you can go ahead and point out specifics if you want to*

Good start on things. You seem to have provided space between the leaves and the terrain, that's a pleasing technique; it helps the eyes move around and through the artwork, however, this isn't a constant throughout. The tree goes to the very edge of the piece; I'd suggest widening the digital canvas to provide more buffer space for the sky so the tree isn't squooshed in there. Seems like you're also moving towards smooth twirly designs on the tree. Make sure you keep with that theme and don't throw big jaggy rocks or clouds in there. Maintain a sense of style and flow. Fluffy, curving clouds, smooth and bouncy rocks. Keep on truckin'.

I attampted to smooth out the rocks and extend the canvas.
