View Full Version : Anyone ever try this training DVD?
assistant pimp 10-03-2006, 02:28 AM I need to do a underwater scene that has to be pretty convincing. I may do some post production in AE not sure. But over all has anyone had any luck with the dvd? http://www.asilefx.com/product_tut_vue5adv_02.html
I have used othe Asilefx dvds and they are pretty good. But I dont have time to fiddle around with it. I have to learn how to do this fast. My other options are realflow and lw for it. But hose posed challenges that I dont have time to conquer. Any advice or crits appreciated.

I have that DVD too. It is a very good underwater tutorial. It will help you set up a scene with the light rays and realistic looking lighting. I would have liked a bit more detail.
If you need some underwater mats, take a look at www.3Dcommune (http://www.3Dcommune) and check out Monsoon's store items for Vue. He has some scenes already setup with the light rays and some really fantastic eco systems.

Hi thanks for the opinion. SO by the end of the dvd were you able to make a pretty believe-able underwater scene? Or did the lack of detail kinda leave you hanging. Taking a look at the recommeded link now

Thanks for the 3dcommune link. I was unaware of that site. The Vue stuff was most interesting.
Is it just me, or does anyone else feel that a lot of Poser content/props ventures into the realm of 'virtual perv ware'? Strange and very sad ... Still, each to their own.

The DVD tutorial left me hanging and wanting more. It did get me a better start than if I had just played on my own, but it only covers the light rays and shadow settings. You can learn a lot just with using Monsoon's store items.

Thank you very much!
hi there,
i`m doing an animated version of the sandman...
When i create an animated Sd file and add a fill deform to it, when action is pressed the animation plays but the fill deform does not follow the object.
I test an object emmiter and it follows the object, how does one get a fill emmiter to follow the animated object?
Thanks
Stu
