I use 3DS Max and XSI. What's a good hh:mm:ss:ff (Hours/Minutes/Seconds/Frames) software I can use so that way I can match up my animation frame by frame?

I plan to record some actors, and then play the fototage frame by frame on my PC so I can match move in my 3D programs. I now that a number of FX houses around the country use one, but I don't know of any off hand.
