Very nice! Methinks it looks like the spiders in the Hobbit - Shelob's smaller kin.

Is that polygon Hair, or has Cinema got some secret nasty hair shader?

Wow, amazing, I would never be able to do that with Cinama, its really coming along as a program. The modeling is great, and I love the render also, it looks really nice, awfuly shiny floor though. :)

It looks so good, would it be possible to have a wire frame please, i wanted to model an spider a while ago, but never did.
You just lighted up that idea on my mind again.

good job

beautiful... i mean hideous spider! from what i see it looks like some excellent modeling went into the making of this.

IMO you should either make the fangs a different material or make them bigger. and are all those glowing things the spiders eyes?

Please do tell about the hair too!

Brilliant piece of work I can’t criticise it I just love everything about it, nice use of the mirrored floor to show its under belly too. The feet in particular are terrific they have that very realistic soft squashy feeling too them! The segmentation and detail in the body and legs is terrific and very convincing. If I had to make a comment I would say possibly the hairs on the body look a bit thick, whereas on the legs they are perfect thin, wispy and translucent.

Excellent job :applause:

Well actually I used cinema4d before I "converted" ;) to maya.
The thing when I used cinema4d was that I couldn't do any complex stuff, but in maya I could do very complex things after a week.
For example hair in cinema4d, when I used it before i couldn't find any plugins for that, and I also didn't wanto model it by hand =).

In maya there is fur and paiuntfx to use, and it's simple to do a mel script that generates hair =)
