Hi guys i need some help. i have a scene in Maya 7 where im rendering an animation but i do not need the background, how do i set up my rendering so that i only have the reflection and the shadows so i can bring it into after effects and add the background.

use render layers.

there is a preset for rendering shadows.

but you need to do your own shading networks for the reflection pass.
