CGTalk - still: Alien Plant

Hey, i just finished this "Alien Plant". Any suggestions or comments? also, i always have to resize my pic really small to post it on here..ive seen peopel with Huge pics, how do they do it so big keeping it under 30kb?? please tell

see.. i had to resize it..it looks all blurry and shit when its small like that. someone help

use my uploader service... it also helps to keep the cgtalk server from overloading if u don't use their attachments...

crits on your plant:
its a bit hard to see... I'd suggest adding some kind of twigs or spikes to it to give it more surface geometry... it looks to smooth. Also I'd work on the coloring, it looks a little to plasticky.

look at some real plants and see how they have leaves, twigs, etc attached... also notice how tress have bark textures, while roses, have a spiky stem, u should incoporate some kind of a surface that is rough and uneven... organic objects tend to be less perfect.

interesting, but could use a lot of work.

The compression killed all of the detail, you could always post a higher-res pic over at my forums.
