View Full Version : Multiple camera rendering

I think that there is a way to batch render maya scene with few cameras (just start rendering and maya renders frame by frame with every selected camera in the scene) but can't find it anymore. Does anybody know how to set up maya's global rendering settings to render all selected cameras with only one starting of the batch rendering? Thanks

Donīt know that one. Just render the same scene in a .bat file, each with a different -cam flag.

yes, you have to check the "renderable" box of all the cameras in the attribute Editor.You can find it in the "output settings"
And in the render Globals use "render all"

Than it works.

Theres some tuts on aliaswavefront.com on camera cuts and stuff, but I would try highend3d.com first, you can find render managers which allow you to do the same thing. I've downloaded one of them and it seemed tricky but maybe thats just me..

i think writing a .bat is the easiest way

commandline "render -man" = all render commends for maya

while talking about cameras and rendering, are there any other renderers beside maya sftware renderer, mental ray and Pixar Renderman? Maybe VRAY version for maya? I heve seen in in the action on the 3DSMax - rendering architectural model, fairly complex with full radiosity and everything is done in cca 30-40 sec, and simple caustics made by the ring is about 28 sec. Comparing to mental ray... Anything else with radiosity and all of that advanced lighting stuf?
