Hello, I´m having a little trouble exporting a texture into 3D studio Max from ZBrush, when I apply the texture to my model (also made in zBrush) it renders with a faint gridline inbetween every polygon.

Can anybody help me solve this problem?

If you look down the tools panel you'll see "texture" Open that and right at the bottom you'll see "fix seam", click that. It might solve the problem. If not on the left hand side is a slider FSBorder, increase that to 20 then to 50 and try again. If that dosen't solve it, you can wait for another answer :) Good luck ..

i'm having the same problem, however, clicking the fix seem option fdoesn't solve the problem for me, neither does increasing the FSBoarder.

does anyone have any other method for takling this problem? thanks in advance.

At fisrt it hapen to me too, did you try re-exporting your texture after aplying the Fix Seem operation?

Hope that solves it.

hey quiron, thanks for your reply.

what i tried after reading this post was:
opening the tool in z brush
fliping the V on the texture
clicking the fix seem button
exporting the texture as .bmp
exporting the tool as .obj
importing the .obj into max
importing the .bmp into the material editor and applying it to the model

the texture is oriented properly and looks great except for this grid that shows up... even after fixing the seems it still appears.

also, i played with the FSBorder too, dragging that value up, hitting fix seems again, and that didn't help either. it actually obscured the image quite a bit more.

hey quiron (and anyone else whos having similar problems).

i've just been playing around with the .bmp coordinated in the material editor in max. i noticed the blur setting in the coordinates rollout by default is set to 1. i cranked it up and noticed that the grid became much clearer.

so i put the values as low as they'd go (.01) and that got rid of the grid lines altogether!

so, for those of you having similar problems, try adjusting the FSBorder in zbrush and if that doesn't work then take the blur all the way down in max.

hope that helps.
