hi, everyone, im trying to set up a situation where particles are emmited when 2 rigid bodies collide, to simulate dust and debris from a crash. i have seen the gnomon tutorial, and while i really like the method used in it, i would like to attempt to set up collision emission with an expression. in the gnomon video, Alex mentions the "emit null" command and the "contact data" as things involved in the expression.

has anyone set this type of thing up? and if so, could you please point me in the right direction?

thanks a lot,

sedric

in the rigid body solver you have setting with which you can make maya output the collision datas.. meaning where a collission occured..
these are switched off by default.
you have to turn them on first to be able to use the data provided

(Solvers->RigidBodySolvers->RigidSolverState->ContactData)

cheers
