Cannot find procedure "maya" error??

Thats wierd.. It works for me.... did u try out other maya commands...? are they workin..?

other commands are working. I tried polyCube and it work. well. i still cant figure out why. i tried putting quote at th filename and they say is a syntax error.

there is nothing wrong with the syntax, cause I typed the exact same statement in my machine & the hardware render prompt popped up...y dont u try reseting the hardware render prefeences to default, or can it be a conflict between 2 maya renderers in case u have 2 versions installed..? I'm not quite sure myself bro... Ur syntax is fine I can tell u that..

maya is not a mel command, type it into the Win32 or linux command prompt, not the script editor!

Robert is right.... ;) Well I assumed tht ur typing the command in the windows command prompt.. the command u said certainly wont work in the script editor...
