Title: Caricature of Allen, photographer
Name: Chris Baker
Country: United Kingdom
Software: Maya, Photoshop, ZBrush
This is a rigged model I made of a client (a photographer) who wanted a caricature of himself displayed on his homepage..
After first sketching out the caricature on paper from the provided photo-reference, I then set about modeling and UV mapping the base meshes in Maya, and then fine-tuning the imported OBJ meshes into ZBrush, along with some 20 head blendShapes, and a fair number of corrective body blendShapes.
The texturing began in ZBrush using the 'ZAppLink' plugin with Photoshop, and further maps completed with Photoshop.
Later the rigging process was completed with Shave and a Haircut in Maya, then lit and rendered with the Maya native renderer.
Any critiques & feedback welcome!

A simple, elegant, cartoonish character. I like the detail and the way his shirt hangs over his pants. Only crit would be the three wrinkles on the front of his shirt that are straight across his body, they look too straight. Still, cool character, congrats.

Thanks for the kind words guys :)
burdenwoe - Normally I'd have used SyFlex for such a job, but the animators didn't have the plug-in, so it became a wrap-deformed object instead :D
Here are some ZBrush screenshots and the head blendShapes used:

haha realy good caricature. The head also have something Vin Diesel going on. I agree that the wrinkles in his shirt look a bit strange but the rest awesome! 4 stars

Looks like Mat Lower on the "TODAY" show. U should send it to him and get some exposure. He would probably like it.

Yep; I'll pose him up alright... think I'll need to model up a camera for him first though - probably a big ol' Hasselblad ;)

Wow! Allen is so lucky not only to get his own caricature, but a fully rigged 3D model of himself!
Fantastic job
