Hi,

my name is Michael Maehring and here is the work I did during the last couple of months;

First of all this demo reel is about modeling -
Secondly it is about texturing, posing and rendering.

Software used: Maya, ZBrush, MuscleTK, Mental Ray, After Effects

hi michi

wonder why noone replyed yet.

like your reel a lot.
the firesalamanda is beautifully modeled and rendered.
also the cat.

only crit would be the lenght.
the whole thing would be a bit more crisp if you cut it down a bit.
also I was wondering why you dont show any movements of the rig.
is it just working for this one pose, or do you just want to show your modeling skills, not wanting to slip into the charakter TK or animation section?

Concerning animation + MuscleTK:
The idea of my workflow is to provide animation ready models to be used with muscle skinning.
Thus weighting + proper deformations are not an issue anymore (...).
The muscle sets which are used for the salamander and the cat are so far a way for quick und clean posing; to use them in animation it would need some additional work (depending on what you would like it to do; i.e. tuning the driven keys of the MTK locators. If you want more information about that let me know.)
