I'm doing this piece as a personal project and to put up for the student gallery at my school.

The guitar is really bothering me. Any tips on how to improve it? I've never been terribly good at drawing/painting axes sadly.

The thing to remember when painting guitars is that the strings have to go in a straight line from the stock to the bridge through the centre of the body. At the moment the neck is at a different angle to the body, meaning the strings would have to finish up at the top of the body, way above his picking hand. Also, the guitar body in your ref is at a shallower angle and larger than the one in your pic.

Hope this helps!
