View Full Version : Character - Troll - Modeled In Rhino3D
Teyon 01-31-2003, 11:42 PM Well, this (http://home.att.net/~teyon.25/models/troll2.jpg) is my first gallery pic in a long time. I modeled this in Rhino just to see if I could do it. I'm not happy with the feet but I don't plan to go back to it anymore. So, comments welcome.

Okay, I started another account so I could upload stuff again...didn't want to but I was told we aren't changing the galleries anytime soon at 'rosity.
So, here's the pic. (http://home.att.net/~teyon.25/models/troll2.jpg)

Thanks. Sorry 'bout the mix-up. You'd think staff at Renderosity would be notified of changes like that. :P Thanks again. now I'm gonna go see if I can update my site using this new account.

:) Yeah, I guess. I went through all the trouble of giving him a...little troll...and then covered it up. Silly. Thanks for the kind response gang. If all goes well, this will be in a 3DWorld mag alongside an article on Rhino.
yeah, second that, he's got a wang the size of florida!
nice work!

VERY nice model, though I agree with the above statements...
I never had gotten the hang of rhino, I would enjoy if you could point out some tuts or something...you seem to know the organic side of modeling very well, which I though was one of the harder parts of rhino....guess not under such skillful hands...
EDIT: if you don't know of any helpful tuts, maybe you learned through some insightful metamorphisis or somethign....maybe you could offer some sort of words of encouragement?
I would really appreciate it......

I've been using Rhino since it was in beta, so I've had time to get used to it but thanks for the kudos regardless! As for tutorials, I'll provide a link to the place I control (and ya don't even need to be a member for it!). I have several tuts in the works and at the link provided I've also got loads of free stuff files that can give you a bit more explanation as well as jumping off points for your own work.
Here's the link:

I'm one of the moderator's for the Rhino Forum at Renderosity, so if you ever have a Rhino related question, I can probably steer you in the right path or lead you to someone who can.
Thanks again.

ooohhhhh.....you're the mod there?
Then you probably don't want to remember me.....hehe.....
Thanks, I will do my best to do the tuts there...btw, sabaman is the one who got me to try out rhino...hehe...
Since I am more than familiar with Autodesk Inventor, it was VERY comforting to open rhino, draw something, type "extrude" and have the good ole comforting command line there.....
Heya,
That's a great model you have there. Is it possible you could post a rhino wireframe for it as well? That would be great.
Thanks, and hope to see more new work!

Thanks, I kinda feel bad trying to draw people away from renderosity....I just don't like the forum's setup, NOT the people there....it's just an old style of forums, and just my opinion....
Oh, well, thanks a bunch...

Oh, and btw, you want me to send you an email?
Or is the "someone's replied to your thread at cgtalk" emails keeping you buys?

Looking pretty sweet man, the Ron Jeremy of Trolls eh?
My only suggestion is that you make the two folds under the pectorials not so harsh and sharp.

UnLevel, feel free to email me if ya want. My email is like all over the place so forgive me if I'm a day or two slow getting back to you though.
Here's the wires. (http://home.att.net/~teyon.25/models/wires2.jpg) The head was almost all one surface. Not always the best way to go.
