For any of you interested in developing games using the C4 Engine (http://www.terathon.com/c4engine/index.php), it will only be available at the $100/free-updates-forever price until October 1, 2006 (http://www.terathon.com/c4engine/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1027). After that, it will cost $200 initially, and $50 for each 6 months of updates after that.

Many developers have said they like C4's elegant architecture, and think that it is quite a bargain.

So if you think you might want to develop your next project using C4, get it NOW while it is still cheap!

I bought this engine and I thinks its great, I'm a complete noob when it comes to game development (More of a hobbyist tinkerer). So I can't vouch for too much. I bought Torque last year and have spent a year learning about it and yet still haven't managed to make anything of note, I just don't have time to learn all the material, but I picked up C4 and within a week have already built my own terrains and understand more of the engine in general. Plus C4 comes with its own terrain and map editing tools, whereas torque has been teasing all of its users with a world Constructor that been "a few weeks from release" for two years now. And C4 IMHO can compete with all of the new age engines :)
