Hi All,

I've been having a problem that seems pretty common out there for people wanting to composite with the Matte Material.
See my thread about it: HERE (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40789)

Basically I want to know if there is a script out there, or if somone can make one, which allows for a user to select an object's properties, then have an Include/Exclude button for the Cast and Recieve Shadow properties, that works on the object level.

For instance, I want an Object1 to cast shadows onto Object2 - AND recieve shadows from Object2... But not have Object1 cast shadows onto itself (imagine a torus knot to help visualize an object casting shadows onto itself.)

Got it?
Any help is much appreciated!

You can do that with lights - have them cast only on certain objects, etc. I think it's mostly scriptable too.

No actually you cant do that with the Include/Exclude feature in the modifier stack of a light.

I need this shadow casting Include / Exclude to work on the object level.

That's what I was getting at. You need multiple lights to do it, but you could create a script to manage it easier. Lightlister would be a start, though I don't know if it has include/exclude support.
