Winner 09-26-2006, 04:11 AM Hi,
I've spent the last few weeks building an adaptable character rig.. and I've finally made 2 characters from it that I will use in an upcoming short acting sequence.
They`re deliberatley low-res and `proxy` looking cos theyre just quick characters.
The pose is just a random thing - to show their attitudes, not part of the animation I plan to do with them...
I just wanna see what you guys think... before i go and do the whole sequence...
please comment with any crits if you have a spare minute.
thanks.

Awesome! But I would like to see some more definitions on the left character, for instance, his nose (don't know if that's part of the proxy disclaimer)

I love the look of these characters. Nose has been noted and the shoulder patches on the right character seem a bit odd.

thanks for the replies and encouragement...
yeah the nose bugs me too... its because its super low res, but i might be able to define it more by hardening the edge underneath it.... hmm...
the shoulder patches are actually just spheres intersecting the body.. you cant really see them as obvioulsy on the crucifix guy, but theyre there. Its so i dont have to do any skinning, but i could maybe lose the sphere totally and just round off the top of the arm...

I think it looks great, personally i do not think that this shot is about models rather it is about the rig. Yet you managed to pull out very nice definitions, maximum impact with minimal definitions. The shot looks so good that i would like to see couple of seconds animated version of it :) I also like the analogy of setupman on the cross.
