XB3rt 09-24-2006, 03:40 PM hi there,
new to this forum and fully amazed by the stunning work shown in this forum,
it is not easy for a 19 year old hobby-grafican like me to have the heart to show my own
pictures in this forum ;)
anyway here is the wip of a spacecraft:
here's the concept sketch (sorry for the bad photography):

step 1 (finding the right outlines):

step 2 (adding some fast lightning effects):

Looking good. Wish I had the mindset to create sci-fi crafts...so I can't really critique from a mechanical point....I'd be happy to do what you've got here. I do like the red glow much better than the yellow...give it more of an eerie "event horizon" feel...if that makes sense. :)

Good work! I kinda like the yellow light better than red, but that's an opinion thing.
Here is my critique:
The 4 wing cannons can't be this big because the blast would send the ship backwards especially if it's a proton shot, from your previous drawing the rear thrusters weren't powerfull enough, also the wings seem a bit to thin and might be easily breakable, unless it's a titanium/diamond alloy, but the way you have it shaded now doesn't suggest that. Also I would add more smaller turrets on the fuselage. Also from the engeneering perspective the cannons are going to need a bigger connecting cord to the main batteries, which have to be in the main fuselage because the wing space is taken up by the engines. I apreciate your efforts, but they are wasted by these mistakes.
Just kidding! Amazing job! It's just that when MelissaWilemon said she couldn't crit from mechanical standpoint this came to mind.

I'm thinking the red lights of the wing are too wide, if it's a distant light source, and it would be mroe occluded perhaps if it was from the engine? Nice design, Looks like the cockpit is slightly twisted around the forward axes of the ship maybe add a symmetry hint so we can tell it isn't. :)

thanks for the nice crits!
the current lightning isn't the final, i'm just testing some different - bla - my english is to bad to tell understandable what i want to say :)
anyway, the cannons aren't too big because they fire a sengonomical-speziognomologic-
humangeousifiingotronic-neutropsychoorgasmoflashlingomordenmorphic blast, from :twisted:hell:twisted:.
ok, i should shut up and add more detail to my work, to make these picture worth for showing it in this incredible forum!
