Hehe, yeah I'm the one that purchased the last ebay one. It was my first purchase of his DVD and ws so inspired that I ended up ordering the rest from Gnomon. These are really fantastic lessons, although his voice sometimes puts me to sleep, lol. I always end up feeling more mellow after I watch them.

I have seen some for sale now and then, but, for instance, the ones I have, I intend to keep cause the info is so good. I picked mine up at Siggraph where they were giving a discount. They aren't inexpensive, but they are certainly worth the price.
That said, most are not aimed at beginners, so you should know the programs used in the DVD contents (i.e., Photoshop, Painter, Maya, ZBrush).

Yeah, they are definitely not for begginers, but if you are clever enough and patient you can disect them pretty well and even learn some simple tricks from them if the art seems too much. I for instance would rarely rely on my keyboard prior to watching my first Ryan DVD. Now I don't think I can live with out it. the Color picked, brush resize, rotate are just a key stroke away :)
