I don't know what an .obj file is...I just know I can't use regular maya files.

Is there a student priced Maya 4.5? I mean, Maya costs 2 grand! Do you all get your's from your jobs, or are you just better at budgeting your money? :p

EDU Maya Complete is $495.
For real? Can any student get that rate, or do you have to be taking special Maya classes? (I don't start my classes in Maya until another year)

Hi Proton

Thanks for the great models! I was able to download the first and second set of you models and they open up fine in 3DS MAX 4. However for the third and fourth set, they fail to open up?

Anyone else downloading 3DS MAX format has this problem?
Is it me or is it something else?

I look forward to your reply Proton. Thanks! :wavey:

proton

hmmmm...I will ask lil dragon and see what might be the problem....

lildragon
02-19-2003, 10:43 PM
Well I'm not to sure about Max 4 but I opened them fine in Max 5, since the converter was keyed to Max. Maybe try the .obj's

Yeah! I am using 3DS MAX 4. Probably that's the problem.

One other question... some of the animations I downloaded are actually upside down during playback. Anyone else have this problem? I actually had to turn my head upside down to watch those animations. But they are LEFT to RIGHT as WELL!
