Hey everyone, this'll be my first thread here. I've seen some awesome work from all of you, so I figured I'd join the community. I'll be leaving for my freshman year at college in August with a couple of friends. This is obviously exciting, and I started drawing out plans for our dorm room; just basic sketches really. Every year I enter a contest through my school's A/V class. Inspired by my incessant sketching, my two future roommates and I have chosen to make a 3d representation of what our dorm will look like. I just started it last night, and so far all I've done is the rough design of the bed. I'm getting all of my reference pictures from the college's site, that way it will remain true to its purpose. So anyway, after all of my long-winded rambling/backstory, here's the bed:

That's a pretty rough draft of it, I still have to add the sheets and pillow. I'm thinking about using SimCloth for the sheets, and giving it sort of a "messy" look. You know, typical college life, right? Oh, and thank goodness for finalRender, otherwise that pic would look much worse. I'd appreciate any advice anyone has to give me since this is really my first big 3d project. Thanks!

Right, I figured I'd put this back on the first page. 55 Views and no comments? :annoyed:

Looking great so far. Not bad texturing work. Needs coeds...

Add more object in your room !
Nice wood texture.
Don't like the render (too cold ! Add one area light (hot colors) with shadow could help !
thx
